COURSE DESCRIPTION
Primary compositions with emphasis on the human figure-nude and costume, including facial expression and body movements in various angles. Explores the creative use of techniques and styles in graphics, pen and ink, color pencil or pen and markers
PRE- AND/OR CO-REQUISITES
1st year subject/Illustration 2
OBJECTIVES
KNOWLEDGE OF—
To developed solution for a given idea of illustration.
To develop ability to demonstrate visual look and economy of thought in basic forms of illustration on message and concept of visual communication design.
SKILL IN—
To developed ability to use black and white or monochromatic medium in pen and ink, color pencil or pen and markers as a formal elements.
To promotes creative problem solving techniques.
To equip the learner to evaluate and properly carry out creative solution in a variety of techniques.
ATTITUDE—
To carry out the development of professional attitudes.
NATURE OF THE COURSE/RESOURCES FOR THE COURSE
This course is designed to help students develop critical abilities in the evaluation of materials and to encourage them to look at illustration.
The course is structured to permit the greatest possible dialogue and exchange of views. The sharing process will require you to bring a variety of materials to class in order to demonstrate points you wish to
make. You are expected to become familiar with a wide variety of resources about illustration, although the major emphasis should be on the processes themselves. You might, for instance, look at particular illustrator to interview.
There are references available on the WWW. You will also find it useful to visit the various websites developed for illustration.

Theory and activities on newspaper illustration

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COURSE
Required Written and Plate exercises
1. Self-portrait Illustration
2. Newspaper illustration
3. Magazine illustration
4. Spot illustration
Methodologies:
Methods will be lectures on theory, demonstration, interaction by answering the question given, discussion or deliberation on activities, do practical assignment by exercises on the spot, supervision, and final project (indoor or outdoor interview). Interview, and field trip (TBA, outdoor interview) Media will be the use of chalk or clipboard, handouts, slides and other instructional materials.
Grading System:
Grading system can be done for the student by solving the given problem. Participate to the class actively through pass all the requirements.
