COURSE DESCRIPTION
Primary compositions with emphasis on the advance illustration materials, techniques and content. Explores the creative use of techniques and styles in graphics and realistic rendering using, oil, acri, photo or collage and other experimental materials.

OBJECTIVES
KNOWLEDGE OF—
To developed solution for a given idea of illustration.
To developed ability to demonstrate visual look and economy of thought in basic forms of illustration on message and concept of visual communication design.
SKILL IN—
To developed ability to use advance and experimental materials as a formal element.
To promotes creative problem solving techniques.
To equip the learner to evaluate and properly carry out creative solution in a variety of techniques.
ATTITUDE—
To carry out the development of processional attitudes.

NATURE OF THE COURSE/RESOURCES
FOR THE COURSE
This course is designed to help students develop critical abilities in the evaluation of materials and to encourage them to look at illustration. The course is structured to permit the greatest possible dialogue and exchange of views. The sharing process will require you to bring a variety of materials to class in order to demonstrate points you wish to make. You are expected to become familiar with a wide variety of resources about illustration, although the major emphasis should be on the processes themselves. You might, for instance, look at particular illustrator to interview. There are references available on the WWW. You will also find it useful to visit the various websites developed for illustration.

Methodologies:
Methods will be lectures on theory, demonstration, and interaction by answering the question given, discussion or deliberation on activities, does practical assignment by exercises on the spot, supervision, and final project (indoor or outdoor interview). Interview and field trip (TBA, outdoor interview). Media will be the use of chalk or clipboard

Course Description
Main emphasis is on setting priorities for typographic elements, designing typefaces and use of grids to develop publications of ascending complexity from one-page, single- color format through multi-folio, multicolor books and magazines. These are considered from concept development through pre-press preparation.

Course Objectives
At the end of the semester the student is expected to:
1. Develop skill in lay outing types for various publications.
2. Enhance the sensitivity the right typeface relative to the kind of publication in which he/she is at work.
3. To be able to make a comprehensive artwork for either brochure or newspaper.
4. Understand the importance of typography and how it works in any printed communications material.
5. Understand the advancement of computer typography and it’s effects to the trade.
6. Develop ability in art direction for types.

Freehand Drawing 2 SY 2010-11 2nd Semester

Description:
Provides students with exercise to develop in them accurate observation and skills in Graphic Presentation. Topics like lines, light, shades and shadow and pictorial presentation or rendering in full color are discussed here. Different art media like charcoal, pencil pen and ink and watercolor are explored to serve as effective means of creating the graphic equivalent of what is observed or visualized.
Pre-Requisites: Freehand Drawing 1
Co Requisites: Drawing and Painting from Life

Grading system:
Grading system can be done for the student by solving the given problem.
Participate to the class actively through doing good drawing and painting exercises and other projects and plates. By following the criteria in doing drawing and painting artwork, follow instruction, accuracy and good technique, speed with effort and discipline in their work P- (50%). Written requirements, research, reaction and examination R- (35%). Attendance and attitude A- (15%).
